(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte urged senators to “do something about” the lowest-bid rule, saying this was the primary source of corruption.
In a speech during the 113th founding anniversary of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Duterte said this is what he asked Senators Franklin Drilon, Francis Escudero, Ping Lacson and Gringo Honasan to do in a meeting with them on Tuesday.
“Iyan talaga (ang pinakasource) ng corruption,” he said.
“Pag manalo iyan (lowest bidder), it would be a miracle if you get something from your money that is really the appropriate price for the lowest bid,” he added.
