(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday visited the wake of a police officer who was killed in a shootout with a drug suspect in Pasig City.
The President was accompanied by Philippine National Police officials led by PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa in the wake of P03 Wilfredo Gueta.
Gueta was killed after he shot it out with Robert Liaguno, who had a standing warrant of arrest, on Monday afternoon.
Liaguno was also killed.
Gueta was awarded posthumously, while his colleague, P01 Raymond dela Cruz, who accompanied him in the operation was also awarded for his bravery.
Gueta’s family will receive financial assistance from the government.
