QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, November 27 attended the very first Bangsamoro Assembly in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao where he pushed for an all-inclusive peace talks in Mindanao.
The President faced an estimated one million Muslims who presented their manifesto asking for the quick passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law in Congress.
In his speech, President Duterte said he is urging Congress to work for the swift passage of the bill. He said that he would also ask Congress to have a special session for the BBL’s passage.
Ghadzali Jaafar, vice-chairman for political affairs of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), asked Duterte’s help to work for the passage of the BBL on behalf of about a million Filipino Moslems.
