QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Special Assistant to the President, Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, is happy with his new title “Selfie King,” a tag used by the US newspaper, “The Washington Post” following the numerous selfies with various world leaders that the Philippine official had during the 31st ASEAN Summit.

Go expressed his happiness in being called “selfie king” as well as for having his very own social media application that will allow his picture to be placed beside anyone, as if a selfie had been taken with him.

Go called himself an ordinary government employee, and explained he did the “selfies” with world leaders because he admired them. It was also a rare opportunity which he grabbed, he said.

“Those are very important to me. I am just an ordinary government employee and there I was, taking selfies with them who are very powerful people,” Go said.

“I took selfies with world leaders because I admire them and only as a remembrance of that once in a lifetime opportunity,” he added.

Go, in his Facebook account showed selfies with world leaders who attended the ASEAN summit, including US President Donald Trump, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi.

Go was also able to have a selfie with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull during the event. The two leaders were holding the phone while taking a selfie with him.
