(Eagle News) — The primary suspect in the gruesome killing of 15-year old Cebu teenager Christine Lee Silawan is now in police custody.
The suspect, Jonas Bueno, was arrested by policemen in Davao City.
Before this, police tracker teams have been scouring Sogod town in Cebu where informants say Bueno was last seen as of 6 p.m. of March 12.
Bueno, along with brothers Junry and Jovy, had been also involved in the brutal killing of a farmer in Danao City last January.
His brothers were killed by Danao City policemen while they were serving arrest warrants last Jan. 18, but Jonas was able to escape.
According to Senior Supt. Remus Medina, Central Visayas police intelligence chief, the modus operandi used by Bueno and his companions in the gruesome murder of the Cebu teenager was also the same modus used in the farmer’s murder last January.
Silawan’s mutilated body was found on a vacant lot in Barangay Bangkal in Lapu-Lapu City on Monday.
Half of her face was skinned and she had 30 stab wounds in the neck and body. Her tongue, trachea, esophagus and parts of her right ear and neck were also missing.
