(Eagle News) — The Philippine economy posted a growth of 6.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017, the Philippine Statistics Authority reported on Tuesday.
In a press conference, National Statistician Lisa Grace S. Bersales said that the gross domestic product was driven primarily by the industry sector, which posted a growth of 7.3 percent in October to December.
With the 6.6 percent growth in the fourth quarter of last year, the Philippine economy posted a 6.7 percent growth in 2017 overall.
This is within the government target of 6.5 to 7.5 percent for that year.
