QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The public should not worry about President Rodrigo Duterte’s request for emergency power to deal with the Metro Manila traffic problem.
This was emphasized by Transportation and Communications Secretary Arthur Tugade while appealing to the senators to approve the President’s request.
According to Tugade, the emergency power given to the President is not absolute and is not permanent. He added that the law granting the President emergency powers would include safeguards.
