(Eagle News) — Bureau of Corrections Director Ronald Dela Rosa would win if he ran for a Senate seat from June 15 to June 21.
A Pulse Asia survey conducted in that period of time noted that apart from Dela Rosa, who had a statistical ranking of fifth to twelfth place, other probable winners were Senator Grace Poe, who ranked first based on the survey, with a voter preference of 67.4%; Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano’s, who ranked second, with 55.7% of Filipinos, based on the survey; and re-electionist, Senator Cynthia Villar, who had a statistical ranking of from third to fourth, with a 50.1% voter preference.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio was also a probable winner, ranking 3rd to 5th with a 46.2% level of support.
Senator Edgardo Angara, Jr., would close out the top five, with a ranking of fourth to eight place, and a backing of 41.9% of Filipinos.
Other probable winners if the May 2019 senatorial elections were held during the survey period were former Senator Jinggoy Estrada (37.9%), and Senator Aquilino Martin Pimentel III (37.7%), who, like Dela Rosa, ranked 5th to 12th; Senator Nancy Binay (37.1%, 6th to 12th places), former Senator Sergio Osmeña (36.6%), former Senator Lito Lapid (36.2%), and Senator JV Ejercito (35.6%), who all have a statistical ranking of 6th to 13th places; and, Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino (32.1%), who is ranked 10th to 16th.
According to Pulse Asia, only 4.8% of Filipinos are not inclined to support any of those listed in the senatorial probe.
A “small majority” of Filipinos, or 55 percent, already have a complete slate for the senatorial race, Pulse Asia said.
The survey has a + 2% error margin at the 95% confidence level.
