QUEZON CITY, Philippines (PIA)–Quezon City government inaugurated on Monday the opening of the new central library at the QC Hall compound.
The library has more than 15,056 books in its main collection. It has computers for public use which are programmed for Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), encoding and web surfing.
The library is a realization of a dream project that Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte planned way back before they took office in 2010.
“Is there really a need for a library, a physical library? We have e-libraries and of course, unreliably Google and Wikipedia. These are all unreliable sources. The best source for research is still the library, and what we can see and can be found inside the library are books authored by credible authors, thoroughly research paper and documents,” Mayor Bautista during the inauguration.
