(Eagle News) — “Ramil” on Thursday intensified into a Tropical Storm, bringing rains in several parts of the country as it interacts with the northeast monsoon.
As of 10 a.m., the center of Tropical Storm “Ramil” was located 365 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan.
It was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
“Ramil” is expected to move westward at 16 kph.
Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected to prevail over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.
In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, light to moderate with possible occasional heavy rains are also expected.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said sea travel is risky in the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the western seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon due to “Ramil” and the surge of the northern monsoon.
“Ramil” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday.
