(Eagle News)—Charges were filed against actor Migo Adecer in connection with a hit-and-run in Makati that left two Metropolitan Manila Development Authority enforcers injured.
Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries, damage to public property, and for disobedience to persons in authority were filed against Adecer, whose real name is Douglas Errol Dreyfus Adecer, after he allegedly bumped Rogelio Formelos Castillano and Michelle Gallova Papin while on board their motorcycle in Barangay Poblacion on Tuesday, March 26.
Instead of stopping to help Castillano and Papin, Adecer, who was driving a white Subaru, took off as traffic enforcers gave chase, the police said.
Castillano and Papin were rushed to a hospital by bystanders.
When cornered, Adecer, the police said, refused to surrender his license, and hit a patrol car in the process.
Police Colonel Rogelio Simon, Makati police chief, said in a television interview that Adecer appeared to be drunk when apprehended.
“Kinausap namin, wala sa sarili,” he said.
Adecer is slated to undergo inquest proceedings.
Hours before, Adecer surrendered a driver’s license to authorities for driving recklessly in Rockwell, police said.
Police are looking into the possibility the surrendered license was fake.
Adecer rose to fame as the winner of season 6 of Star Struck.
He is also part of the GMA-7 show Sahaya.
