QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Rice prices has increased by Php 1.00 to Php 2.00 per kilo in the third week of January 2018.
The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas shared the price monitoring report of the Philippine Statistics Authority which said that special well-milled rice increased by Php 1.00 per kilo while premium well-milled rice increased by Php 2.00 per kilo.
“The price monitoring of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has noted rice price hikes across the country,” the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) said in a statement.
Kidapawan City recorded the highest increase of Php 3.00 per kilo of rice.
“These price hikes are the result of the cumulative hike in petroleum prices since Jan. 1, when TRAIN became effective. This week, oil prices will once again increase according to oil companies,” KMP said.
