(Eagle News)–The lawyer of Vice President Leni Robredo dismissed as “lies” President Rodrigo Duterte’s remarks her brother-in-law brought illegal drugs to Bicol, and Naga was a “shabu hotbed.”
“Ang kasinungalingan, ulit-ulitin man, kasinungalingan pa rin,” Barry Gutierrez said in a tweet.
He said Duterte should focus on investigating the entry of P6.8 billion worth of shabu in the country, and on arresting alleged drug lord Peter Lim, instead of hurling “accusations without basis.”
“Pagtrabahuhin ang mga PNP generals kaysa magjunket sa Israel,” he added.
Although Duterte did not give names, former Naga City councilor Luis Ortega had already alleged that Butch Robredo, brother of the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, the vice president’s husband, had drug links.
He also questioned Robredo’s leadership qualities, saying she could not “hack” corruption and illegal drugs.
