(Eagle News) – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday presented in a press briefing Rodel Jayme, the website master of metrobalita.net which is being linked to the controversial “Bikoy” videos.
During the press briefing, Jayme denied any knowledge on the uploading of the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” video series, and that he was ready to serve as a state witness for the government.
“Ang website po ay pinagawa lamang po sa akin. HIndi po ako yung si Bikoy. Hindi rin po ako ang nag-upload sa Facebook page, hindi rin po ako ang nag-upload sa Youtube, at lalong hindi po ako ang nagpakalat ng nasabing mga videos na may episodes,” he said.
He insisted that he only put up the website and that he was given P2,500 as payment for the website and the domain name by his contact which he only identified as a certain Maru Nguyen and Maru Xie. He said that all that he knew was that the website would be used to put up good stories about the candidates which his contact was supporting.
“Sa ngayon, hindi po muna ako maglalabas ng pangalan (For now, I won’t be naming names),” he said citing the ongoing investigation of the NBI. He said he was contacted only last February by the one who had approached him for the website.
Jayme admitted that he had attended sorties of the Liberal party, and that he was a former supporter of the party. He admitted his contact was also a supporter of the Liberal party.
“Hindi ko alam kung malaking tao sila. Basta alam ko, kapwa ko po sila supporter noon, noong panahon ng presidential elections.. sa partidong Liberal,” he said.
-Jayme says group advised him to go into hiding-
He, however, said that a group – which he did not identify — had advised him to go in hiding while the Bikoy video was still a hot topic or until after the May 13 elections.
But Jayme said he did not heed this warning as he had a “clean” conscience.
“I know I was not hiding anything, I was not doing anything wrong, “ he said in Filipino.
“Kung magtatago po ako, lalabas na guilty ako,” he said.
“Website lang po ang ginawa ko. Wala po akong idea na mag-a-upload ng nasabing videos doon sa facebook page at sa youtube (I only put up the website. I had no idea that those [Bikoy] videos from Facebook and Youtube would be uploaded),” Jayme insisted.
He said that this was why he readily cooperated and came with the NBI agents when they arrived at his house in Paranaque City.
“Maluwag sa loob ko na sumama,” he said, saying that he even surrendered to the NBI team all his gadgets and cellphones.
Jayme said that he gave the access to the website to “Maru” and that he was transparent about his transactions with this person whom he did not identify.
“After magawa ko yun (website), binigay ko ang access sa kanya,” he said.
The NBI had already filed a complaint for inciting to sedition against Jayme, but hinted that there would be more cases to be filed.
“We are not looking at one or two cases here. We are still leveraging on the assessment of our legal and evaluation division,” said Francis Senora, an agent of the NBI.
