Roque: President Duterte has no plans of establishing revolutionary gov’t

(Eagle News) — The Palace on Saturday said President Rodrigo Duterte has no plans of establishing a revolutionary government.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque issued the statement after the Social Weather Stations said that a “plurality” of Filipinos were opposed to the type of government.

According to Roque, the President has said that he only mentioned the concept “in the context on kapag naghihingalo na ang republika.”

“On SWS survey on revolutionary government, the President has said that he does not want revolutionary government but this does not mean that he would prevent citizens from expressing their support to the revolutionary government,” Roque said.

He said that based on the recent survey, the “people are divided.”

In the survey conducted from December 8 to 6 last year, 39 percent of Filipinos said they were against the establishment of that type of government.

The survey said 31 percent were for it, and 30 percent were undecided.
