(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte will tap the expertise of a three-man panel of Asian experts to determine the real effects of Dengvaxia.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the President arrived at the decision following the conflicting findings of the studies conducted by the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital and the Public Attorneys Office, which both conducted autopsies on individuals who died after they were administered the vaccine manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur.
“Sa ngayon po nagaantay pa ng mas malinaw na scientific finding ang ating Presidente kaya nga po bubuoin niya itong three-man panel na experts para malaman talaga kung ano ang dapat gawin sa Dengvaxia,” he said.
PAO chief Persida Acosta has said the deaths of several children was linked to Dengvaxia, but the UP-PGH did not make a specific conclusion.
Acosta also filed obstruction charges against Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, who slammed the filing as “malicious.”
