(Eagle News) — A spokesman for the Liberal Party said Secretary Mar Roxas will be free to choose his own running-mate come 2016 elections.
Eastern Samar Representative Ben Evardone said it is a standard practice of the ruling Liberal Party to let the party’s standard bearer, in this case Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, to choose his own vice-presidential running-mate because he has to be comfortable with whom he is running with.

Among those who are being considered so far are Senators Grace Poe and Chiz Escudero.
Evardone said it is possible that Roxas may ask Escudero to run with him since they are coalition partners.
This, despite escudero’s earlier decision not to endorse Roxas as vice-presidential bet in 2010.
Other candidates being considered are Secretary Jun Abaya and Congresswoman Leni Robredo.
