VILLANUEVA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)– The increasing numbers of wounded soldiers in the ongoing Marawi crisis in Lanao del Sur has prompted the stakeholders in Villanueva town to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through a blood-letting activity.
Jacobi Carbons Philippines Inc., in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), the local government unit (LGU) of Villanueva and the army’s 58th Infantry Battalion (58IB), launched held the activity at Jacobi Carbons plant in Barangay San Martin.
PRC medical personnel, Jacobi Carbons employees, and local government personnel, among others, participated in the event, where a total of 21,600cc blood was donated.
The event–themed ‘Sagip Sundalo’—- aims to save the lives of soldiers defending the country from the ISIS-Maute terrorist group in Marawi City.
Jacobi Carbons Philippines, Inc. was established in the first quarter of 2012 and is engaged in the purchase of coconut shell charcoal (CSC) from local farmers.
These were granulated to required sizes and prepared for export to its affiliate companies in India, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka after a thorough quality control process.
