KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA, United States (Reuters) — Democrat Bernie Sanders on Thursday (March 10) called on his supporters to turn out in large numbers for next week’s primary, during a campaign stop in Kissimmee, Florida.

“I believe that if there is a large voter turnout, if you come out, and your friends and family and neighbors come out, we are going to win here in Florida,” Sanders said.

The U.S. senator credited his surprise victory in Michigan earlier in the week to high voter turnout.

“About a week ago, we were 20 or 30 points behind in Michigan and what all of the pundits and what all of the media said was Bernie Sanders and the political revolution can’t win in Michigan. Guess what? We won in Michigan.

North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, and Illinois will hold nominating contests next Tuesday (March 15).
