(Eagle News) — The Sandiganbayan on Tuesday, April 10, ordered the detention of former immigration commissioners Al Argosino and Michael Robles in connection with the P50-million bribery case involving businessman Jack Lam and retired police officer Wally Sombero.
This was after the anti-graft court found probable cause for the non-bailable case of plunder against them.
The order finding probable cause was released hours after Sombero and Argosino posted a P60,000 bail each.
It was reportedly already finished last week but was released only later because it lacked the signature of an associate justice.
Apart from plunder, Argosino and Robles are facing cases for direct bribery, graft and for violation of PD 46 over their alleged acceptance of a P50 million payment from Lam in 2016.
The money was allegedly in exchange for the release of 1316 of Lam’s workers who were arrested for their alleged violation of immigration laws.
