(Eagle News)—-Davao Mayor Sara Duterte said the regional political party she created was “set to create alliances with other groups to help each other.”
The Davao mayor, who is also the Hukbong ng Pagbabago chair, said, however, that HNP was engaged in talk with “local parties” and not national ones.
She said it would be a “difficult decision to go national and I am not ready to decide on it right now.”
She said “even the other officers are not keen on deciding this.”
“HNP is a regional political party. HNP was not made to go on a national level. We just wanted to create a strong Region XI,” she said.
Deputy Speaker Fredenil Castro on Saturday said members of the ruling PDP-Laban could defect to the HNP following what he said was infighting.
A faction within the PDP-Laban “elected” its own set of officers, a move condemned by Senator Koko Pimentel, who serves as the party president, and other high-ranking officials of the party.
