(Eagle News)–Davao Mayor Sara Duterte on Sunday, March 10, accused Vice President Leni Robredo of having “fake courage,” after members from her camp defended her from the presidential daughter’s tirades.
“A reminder to Leni Robredo: Kapag umatake ka, at sinagot ka ng inatake mo to question your authority to speak on integrity and honesty, do not retreat behind a ‘Robredo Camp’ to answer for you and the argument you started,” Duterte said.
Duterte was apparently referring to Robredo’s silence and the defense of the Liberal Party and of Barry Gutierrez, Robredo’s lawyer, of her after the presidential daughter said she should not comment on honesty.
Duterte had said this was because Robredo’s honesty was questioned since Day 1 of her term as vice president in the first place.
“Salamat Mayor Sara, pinatunayan mong hindi ka talaga naniniwala na kailangan ang honesty sa public service. Babanat ka na nga lang, mga fake news pa ang ginamit mo,” Gutierrez had said.
As for the LP, it said Robredo was not even a candidate in the upcoming polls in the first place and did not deserve the tirades.
“Kapag kakampi nila hindi issue ang honesty pero kapag si VP Leni at hindi nila kaalyado ay issue na ito? Tama ba yun?,” the party had said.
