(Eagle News) — The Supreme Court has reprimanded ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno after she lashed out at the justices while a quo warranto petition was pending against her.
In a media briefer shown to the media on Tuesday, July 17, the SC said it gave Sereno a “stern warning a repetition of the same acts will merit a heavier penalty.”
The SC issued a show-cause order against Sereno after she went around universities and schools discussing what the High Court said were the merits of her case.
The order was contained in a May 11 ruling that also declared as null Sereno’s appointment as Chief Justice.
