SC requires gov’t to submit reports on drug war

(Eagle News)–The Supreme Court has denied the government’s petition against its December 2017 order to submit reports on the war on drugs.

Theodore Te, SC spokesperson, said the SC denied Solicitor General Jose Calida’s argument submitting the reports would compromise the safety of informants and police operations, and directed the government, including Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa,  to submit them within a 15-day notice.

The required reports include  a list of persons killed in  police operations from July 1, 2016 to Nov. 30, 2017; a list of drugs involved in police operations; and a list of deaths under investigation from July 1, 2016 to Nov. 30, 2017.

The required reports also include a list of warrants and warrantless arrests in high-value target police operations; and a list of cases under investigation by the Internal Affairs Service.
