(Eagle News) — Gilas clinched the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball after blowing out the Indonesian team on Saturday.
The first quarter saw the two teams neck and neck, with Gilas at one point trailing the red shirts but only by a few points.
It was in the second quarter when Gilas pulled away from the Indonesians, who were seen panicking in the end.
Mike Tolomia also exploded, as he made consecutive three-point shots that increased Gilas’ lead.
The white shirts sustained the momentum until the fourth quarter, when Kobe Paras dunked all over the struggling Indonesians to the delight of the Filipinos in the crowd.
Tolomia contributed the most points in the game (20), followed by Paras (14).
The final score: 94-55.
