Second alarm hoisted over Marikina River

The level of the Marikina River has breached 16 meters according to the Marikina Rescue 161./Marikina Rescue 161/

(Eagle News) — A second alarm was hoisted over the Marikina River on Friday, July 20.

Marikina Rescue 161 said as of 9 a.m., the water level was now at 16.1 meters.

A voluntary evacuation will take place if the water level reaches 17 meters.

If it reaches 18 meters and a third alarm is raised, residents near the area will be forcibly evacuated.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Tropical Storm “Inday” was forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday, July 21, but monsoon rains would prevail over several parts of the country, including Metro Manila.
