MANILA, Nov.18 (PIA) — Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Security Task Force has appealed for the public’s utmost understanding and cooperation brought about by inconveniences of the stop and go scheme and road closures for the Economic Leaders’ Meeting this week.
“We ask for solidarity as the nation shows the Filipino brand of hospitality,” the group said in a statement.
Only authorized APEC vehicles may use the two innermost lanes of the northbound and southbound lanes of EDSA from November 16 to 20.
There will likewise be road closures in the Cultural Center of the Philippines area during those dates.
A 24-hour truck ban will be implemented in Roxas Boulevard from November 17 to 20 and a daytime truck ban along the south truck routes.
“Trucks will only be allowed along the south truck routes from 10:00 pm to 6:00 a.m. on APEC Week,” APEC Security Task Force added.
APEC is a multilateral international organization founded in 1989 that seeks to foster free trade and economic prosperity.
