QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport was tightened after the declaration of martial law in Mindanao following the Marawi siege.
“We will implement stricter security measures at the airport,” Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Ed Monreal said.
Monreal said that the airport police department was always coordinating with the Aviation Security Group and other law enforcement groups in order to monitor the security in the four terminals of NAIA.
Monreal also said that they conduct constant checking of the airport through X-ray machines and closed-circuit television cameras.
The agency also assured the public that international and domestic terminals at the NAIA are sufficiently secured.
He then advised the public to be vigilant and alert, and to report to the authorities any suspicious activities that will be observed.
