The Senate committee on ethics has junked the complaint filed against Senator Vicente Sotto III over his “single mom” remark against Judy Taguiwalo, whose nomination as Social Welfare Secretary was being heard by the Commission on Appointments.
It was Senator Panfilo Lacson who approved the motion to junk the complaint for “lack of jurisdiction.”
The complaint was filed by women’s rights groups who were offended by Sotto’s comment against Taguiwalo, a single parent.
