(Eagle News)—-The Senate was the only government institution that had a “good” net satisfaction rating in a survey done by the Social Weather Stations in June.
According to the SWS, the +41 rating it received translates to 57 percent of people satisfied with its performance and to 17 percent dissatisfied with it.
Although still a “good,” the SWS said this was the “lowest” mark the Senate received since the +41 it received in April 2016.
The four-point decline in the rating since another SWS March survey was due to “decreases of 15 points in Balance Luzon and 2 points in Mindanao, combined with increases of 15 points in Metro Manila and 3 points in the Visayas,” the SWS said.
‘Moderate’
In the June survey, the Cabinet, Supreme Court and the House of Representatives all received a rating classified by the pollster as “moderate,” with declines or almost no movement at all in the mark they received in a previous SWS survey in March.
House of Representatives
The net satisfaction rating of the House of Representatives, for instance, fell by 10 points from the +35 it received in March 2018.
The SWS said this was the lowest mark it received since the moderate +16 it got in December 2015.
“The 10-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of the House of Representatives was due to decreases in all areas except Metro Manila,” the SWS said.
Supreme Court
The Supreme Court’s net satisfaction rating, on the other hand, stayed at moderate, “hardly moving from +20 (correctly rounded) in March 2018 to +19 in June 2018,” according to the SWS.
The pollster said this was the lowest net satisfaction rating of the High Court in six years, since the +13 it got in May 2012.
According to the SWS, the “1-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of the Supreme Court was due to single-digit decreases in the Visayas, Balance Luzon, and Metro Manila, combined with a 5-point increase in Mindanao.”
Cabinet
The Cabinet’s net satisfaction rating was down by 3 points, from the +28 mark it received in March to the +25 it received in June.
“This is the lowest in over two years, since the moderate +22 in April 2016,” the SWS said.
Survey background
According to the pollster, the “3-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of the Cabinet was due to single-digit decreases in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, and Mindanao, combined with a 1-point increase in the Visayas.”
The SWS survey in June was conducted from June 27-30, 2018 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,
The SWS said sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
