Senate restores protective custody over “fixer” Mark Taguba

(Eagle News) — The Senate blue ribbon committee on Monday announced the restoration of protective custody over fixer Mark Taguba.

It was Senator Richard Gordon himself  who approved the restoration, following a motion by Senator Panfilo Lacson, who earlier criticized the Senate blue ribbon committee chair for removing protective custody over Taguba without the consent of the members of the committee.

Apart from Lacson, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV criticized Gordon for his move.

Gordon had accused Taguba of leaving out important details in his testimonies.

“There’s no problem on the part of the chairman to provide (Taguba)  upon the request of Lacson the necessary security so long as the Senate can afford it,” Gordon said.
