(Eagle News) — The Senate is studying and strictly monitoring the increase in the prices of basic goods due to the implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, the chair of the Senate Committee on Energy, said that if the increase in the prices of basic goods will continue, the Senate will look for ways to minimize the effect of the additional excise tax.
Gatchalian said that the compromise being adopted by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will result in an efficient tax collection in the country.
“Yan po ay isang bagay na tututukan rin po ng Kongreso kung ating kailangang tingnan,” he said.
