(Eagle News) — Senator Francis Pangilinan on Friday said the Liberal Party optimism former President Benigno Aquino III could defend himself from his actions in the Mamasapano operation that led to the deaths of 44 Special Action Force commandoes.
“Sinusuportahan din ng Liberal Party si (dating) Pangulong Aquino sa kaniyang paninindigan sa prosesong pangkapayapaan sa Mindanao, at tinitignan ang kaniyang mga aksyon kaugnay sa Mamasapano bilang bahagi ng kaniyang paniwalang isulong ang katarungan at kapayapaan sa Mindanao,” the senator, who is also LP president, added.
He said the party also “trusts” that Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales will “oversee the needed process to find the truth in a fair and believable way.”
