Senators condole with family of late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago

QUEZON City, Philippines – Senators expressed their condolences to the family of former Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago after she passed away Thursday morning (September 29).

According to Senator Panfilo Lacson, Defensor-Santiago is a great loss for the country and that he admires her strength during debates. Former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile also expressed his condolences, saying that he has no hard feelings with the late senator; Senator Cynthia Villar said that the late senator was a great public servant and that she had a brilliant legal mind.

The Philippine flag is placed at half-mast in the Senate in honor of the late Senator.
