(Eagle News) — Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel urged his co-lawmakers to follow the smoking ban signed by President Rodrigo Duterte
Pimentel said that senators are not exempted from the Executive Order 26 or the “Nationwide Smoking Ban” that had already been signed into law.
Pimentel also said that he will asked for clarifications on the coverage of the smoking ban, particularly on designated smoking areas.
“The Senate has provided designated smoking areas within its premises. But it is unclear whether this would comply with the standards set by the EO,” Pimentel said in a interview.
“We should study this carefully to see if it also prohibits the designated smoking areas at the Senate. If it says that smoking areas are prohibited even in public buildings then we will comply,” he said.
