“The only show in Philippine television that gave attention and importance to local music,” these are the words of Mr. Kedy Sanchez, a renowned songwriter, record executive, and musician under GMA records, that spoke of the greatness of the multi-awarded show, Sessions on 25th Street.
A thanksgiving event was held at the Eagle Broadcasting Corporation Atrium this afternoon to express the production’s gratitude towards large record companies that graciously contributed their artists as guests for the show. It also launched its 5th season that aims to discover amateur musicians and provide them resources to help boost their career. Big record labels like GMA Records, VIVA Entertainment, VICOR Music, Alpha Music, and Curve Entertainment are present to witness the said event.
Mr. Ernie Magtuto, the host and musical director of the show, was overwhelming with gratefulness during the event because of the support that the companies had given since the first season. “They are the ones who have been providing us with marvelous and super high-caliber talents that we are able to invite as guests in the show, so this is our little way of saying thank you to these guys,” he said.
Sessions on 25th Street showcased a lot of famous Filipino artists and bands during the past 4 years from which includes, Jaya, Kyla, Yeng Constantino, Spongecola, Noel Cabangon, The Company, and many more. It also served as a steppingstone for amateur artists to have a place in the music industry. Watch out for its brand new season that will surely bring a whole new level of musicality in television.
