SCOTTSVILLE, TEXAS United States (Reuters) — Residents in Scottsville, Texas were recovering on Sunday (January 22) from severe storms and high winds that damaged dozens of properties, downed trees and toppled power lines.
The national weather service was determining whether the storms met classifications for tornado status.
Scottsville resident Earnest Marshall described the strong winds sweeping through his home.
“The house shifted three times… I covered my head” adding his house was “tore up” after the line of storms rolled through.
Residents in the rural rural community came together to remove debris and helped their neighbors who were affected by the strong storms.
