(Eagle News) — Two areas remain under Signal No. 2 as Typhoon “Bising” continues to move over the Philippine Sea, east of Cagayan Valley.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the eastern portion of Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Baggao, Gattaran, Lal-Lo, Peñablanca, Santa Teresita, Buguey) and the eastern portion of Isabela (Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan) are under the tropical cyclone wind signal, with 61 to 120 kph of winds prevailing or expected in 24 hours.
The following areas in Luzon, on the other hand, are under Signal No. 1:
- Batanes
- the rest of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- the rest of Isabela
- Quirino
- Apayao
- the eastern portion of Kalinga (Rizal, Tabuk City, Pinukpuk, Tanudan)
- the eastern portion of Mountain Province (Paracelis, Natonin)
- the eastern portion of Ifugao (Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo)
- the northern and central portion of Aurora (Dipaculao, Baler, Dinalungan, Casiguran, Dilasag)
- Polillo Islands
- the northern portion of Camarines Norte (Capalonga, Jose Panganiban, Paracale, Vinzons, Talisay, Daet, Mercedes, Basud)
- the northeastern portion of Camarines Sur (Siruma, Tinambac, Lagonoy, Garchitorena, Caramoan)
- the northern portion of Catanduanes (Caramoran, Viga, Gigmoto, Panganiban, Bagamanoc, Pandan)
The center of Typhoon “Bising” is so far located 395 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph.
It will move generally northward or north northwestward until tonight or tomorrow (April 22) when the typhoon will be nearest to the landmass of Northern Luzon.
PAGASA said the typhoon will then move northeastward away from the landmass throughout tomorrow and east northeastward on Friday (April 23) and Saturday (April 24).
It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
