MANILA, Philippines – According to SMARTMATIC, 85% of the polling precincts will make use of three SIM cads given by major telecommunication companies in order to transmit votes during the 2016 election. SMARTMATIC added that it was the Commission on Elections that made said decision due to the limited budget as well as the prohibitive cost of satellite transmissions.
