AUGUST 1 (Reuters) — Members of an international team of skydivers joined hands Friday (July 31) as they flew head-down, breaking the world record skydiving formation.
164 skydivers built the largest ever vertical skydiving formation, a giant flower, while some traveled at speeds up to 240 mph.
The skydivers held the flower formation for several seconds before breaking away, deployed their parachutes, and headed back with excitement to the ground.
It took the team 13 attempts to beat the 2012 mark set by 138 skydivers.
