(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte ordered Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa to immediately detain the lady police officer who was earlier arrested in Bohol, and turned out to be a “lover” of an Abu Sayyaf member.
“I just received instruction from the President and he ordered me to arrest and incarcerate right away Supt. Cristina Nobleza,” Dela Rosa said in a press briefing at around 2 p.m. Monday, April 24.
“Hulihin, arestuhin at ikulong. Kasuhan ng katakut-takot na kaso na puedeng ikaso sa kanya,” Dela Rosa said, recalling what the President’s order to him was.
The PNP chief said Nobleza was “sleeping with the enemy” and was romantically linked with her driver, a certain Reneer Lou Dungon, who was a member of the ASG.
Nobleza’s vehicle, a Nissan Navarra which was driven by Dungon, did not stop at a PNP checkpoint in Clarin town in Bohol. The police found this suspicious, especially as Nobleza even allegedly threw out her cellphone on the road.
Marwan’s mother-in-law also in vehicle
When police caught up with Nobleza, they found an old woman in the car, who later turned out to be the mother in law of late Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan; the late Abu Sayyaf leader Khadaffy Janjalani; Abu Solaiman, who was linked to the 2004 Superferry bombing, and Ahmad Santos, the founder of the Rajah Solaiman Movement.
Her daughters were all married to these Abu Sayyaf leaders.
Also in the vehicle was a 13-year-old child allegedly of Ahmad Santos.
Nobleza is the deputy chief of the PNP Crime Laboratory in Davao.
She is said to be 49 years old and her Abu Sayyaf driver and alleged lover is in his twenties.
“So, (Nobleza) is really high-risk and many will be interested in her. She needs to be brought here in Crame so that the people of Bohol will be at peace,” Dela Rosa said.
He said that Nobleza will be immediately removed from the PNP service and will be transferred to the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
Before her assignment at the PNP Crime Laboratory in Davao, Nobleza was assigned at the PNP Anti-Illegal Operations Drugs Group that had been later disbanded after the Jee Ick-Joo killing.
The police suspected that they were out to replenish food and medical supplies of the Abu Sayyaf members who are now on the run, and that they were on a mission to rescue at least one Abu Sayyaf teen-ager connected to a powerful clan in Basilan.

Also found inside their vehicle were various packed foods like canned goods, crackers, energy drinks and chocolate bars; medical supplies such as gauze pads; pre-paid cards and cellphone batteries, and various ammunition and other firearms.
Charges of illegal possession of firearms, harboring a criminal, and conspiracy to commit terrorism are being prepared for filing against Nobleza.
“Hindi natin masabi na miyembro siya ng Abu Sayyaf. Pwede siyang nagamit through her personal connections na naging boyfriend nga niya yung Abu Sayyaf na si Dungon,” Dela Rosa said.
“They have to face the consequences of their actions, kaya ito ngayon tatanggalin natin siya sa serbisyo ngayon at kakasuhan talaga natin,” he added.
Police also recovered Nobleza’s cellphone, from where they learned that she and Dungon were contacting the remaining members of the Abu Sayyaf.
They were reportedly trying to rescue another Abu Sayyaf member, a certain alias Asis, a 17-year-old who was reportedly a direct bloodline of a royalty in Basilan.
