CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, March 20 (PIA) – The South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) extension project will soon start construction.
This was disclosed by Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar in a recent interview with the Quezon media.
Villar reported that the construction of the 56.862-kilometer extension project, also known as Toll Road 4 (TR4) which starts in Sto. Tomas town in Batangas and ends in Lucena City, will start this 2017.
Once completed, the usual travel time of four (4) hours from Manila to Lucena will be dramatically reduced to more than one hour.
The SLEX Toll Road 4 is a four-lane expressway that is divided into five (5) parts as follows: Calamba-Macban, 11.32 kms.; Macban-San Pablo City, 12.12 kms.; San Pablo City-Tiaong, Quezon, 7.50 kms.; Tiaong-Candelaria,15 kms.; at Candelaria-Lucena,10.93 kms. (ACO, PIA-Laguna)
