(Eagle News)– Kabayan Party-list Rep. Harry Roque on Wednesday challenged Senator Leila De Lima to show up at the House’s investigation on her connection with illegal drugs trade inside New Bilibid Prison.
“Those are issues that she has to respond to. Kung walang tinatago, sisipot. Kung malinis ang konsensya, humarap ka,” Roque said.
“We will see. We will invoke jurisprudence. We need to clarify the scope of this inter-parliamentary courtesy,” Roque answered about De Lima’s choice to plead inter-parliamentary courtesy if she decides not to attend.
The House of Representatives will conduct its own investigation on the proliferation of drugs inside NBP during De Lima’s term as Justice Secretary.
President Rodrigo Duterte accused De Lima of benefiting from the drug trade inside the prison and even links her driver as the “bagman”.
