(Eagle News)–Some Maynilad customers in Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas and Cavite will experience water service disruptions until May 14.
In an advisory, Maynilad said the low water pressure to no water supply in those select areas, which started on Monday, April 29, was due to the “radical measures” that need to be implemented because of the “unusual algae proliferation” in Laguna Lake observed since April 23.

Maynilad said the radical measures were despite the “remedial measures” that the water firm has started implementing to address the algal bloom.
Maynilad said the bloom was the result of the “warmer temperature brought about by the mild El Niño…”
“Rest assured that we are closely monitoring the water quality in Laguna Lake. We are also continuously finding ways to optimize the limited water supply during this time,” Maynilad said.
