Sotto: Another witness to testify to corruption in BuCor involving GCTA in Senate

Two others may do so, too, senator says

(Eagle News)–Senate President Tito Sotto on Sunday, Sept. 8, said two more witnesses could testify before the Senate on  corruption in the Bureau of Corrections involving the accreditation of inmates’ Good Conduct Time Allowances.

Sotto, who made the revelation in an interview over radio DWIZ, said this was apart from a third witness who would definitely testify during the hearing.

According to Sotto, the witnesses, whom he did not name, could corroborate the statement of Yolanda Camelon, who earlier testified she paid P50,000 to fast-track the release of her partner from the New Bilibid Prison through the GCTA law.

She said she made the payment to BuCor officer Staff Sergeant Ramoncito Roque and  Senior Inspector Maribel Bansil.

She also named Officer 3 Veronica Buño during a hearing in the Senate.

All three have denied the allegations.

The hearing on Monday, Sept. 9, is slated at 10 a.m.
