(Eagle News)–For Senate President Tito Sotto, an ouster plot against President Rodrigo Duterte “will not fly.”
“The cat is out of the bag.It does not have wings, therefore won’t fly,” Sotto said.
Senator Koko Pimentel for his part urged the public to “trust our democratic processes.”
He clarified he has, however, not heard of a plot to oust President Duterte.
“In a democracy like ours, political leadership should be determined by the ballot,” he added.
A matrix detailing the supposed plot to oust the President was published by The Manila Times today.
Dante Ang, chair emeritus of the newspaper, said the matrix, which linked leftists, select media personalities and select news outfits including Rappler, Vera Files and the Philippine Center of Investigative Journalism to the supposed plot, came from a “highly placed source” from the Office of the President.
The Palace has denied the matrix came from it but backed Ang’s report.
