Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon “#EgayPH” Bring Heavy Rains to Visayas Region”

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Rainfall Advisory No. 16 for the Visayas PRSD (Regional Services Division) as the region experiences the combined impact of the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon “#EgayPH.”

As of 2:00 PM today, several areas in the Visayas region are affected by light to moderate rainfall, with intermittent heavy downpours ranging from 2.5 to 4.5 liters/meter² per hour and occasional peaks of 7.5 to 15 liters/meter² per hour. The areas under this weather condition include #Eastern Samar, #Samar, #Biliran, #Leyte, and #Southern Leyte.

PAGASA predicts that this rainfall pattern may continue for the next 2 to 3 hours, posing possible risks of flooding and landslides in the affected regions and nearby areas.

As a precautionary measure, the public and local disaster risk reduction and management councils are strongly advised to closely monitor the weather conditions and remain alert for any further advisories.
