The distribution of “goodwill bags” from the Iglesia Ni Cristo started Saturday (April 26) morning at the grounds of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City to commemorate the first year anniversary of the relief-medical-dental and evangelical mission of the Church dubbed as “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” or “My Countrymen, My Brethren.”
The project, which combined an intensive evangelical campaign and medical-dental and relief service mission, was launched in April 2013 and has since reached millions of people all over the world. Before this, medical and relief missions were held separately from the evangelical missions.
The Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, Inc., which spearheaded the project, said 150,000 “goodwill bags” each containing three kilos of rice, three cans of sardines, and three noodle packs were prepared for distribution.
The goodwill bags were placed in large boxes, and lanes were also set up so that the distribution of the “goodwill bags” will be faster and more organized.
Eagle News Reporter Jerold Tagbo reported from the distribution site. The video here shows just how organized the whole distribution process was. Before the relief bags were distributed, a special worship service officiated by INC Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo was first held. The special worship service, also served as the “Pamamahayag” or evangelical service, for the non-INC members who attended the event as “guests”. The worship service started at 6 a.m., but the Mall of Asia grounds were already filled with people as early as 4:30 a.m. About half a million attended the special gathering. (Eagle News Service)
