(Eagle News) — Tropical storm Jolina has accelerated and re-intensified as it continues to move in a west northwest direction, and is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Saturday night (August 26)
As of 11 a.m., Saturday, only four northern Luzon provinces have storm warning signals. They are Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, La Union, and Abra all under public storm warning signal number 1.
All other warning signals elsewhere had been lifted.
But PAGASA said that monsoon rains are still expected over the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon, while light to moderate with possible occasionally heavy rains due to thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Luzon.
“Jolina” has maximum sustained winds of 80 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 95 kph.
It is forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph
