These are just some of the fantastic views of the 62-acre town of Johnsonville, Connecticut, which was once a thriving mill community, a Victorian Era tourist attraction, that had been abandoned for years.

The beautiful abandoned old town was featured in an episode of the National Geographic TV series “Abandoned.”  It was put up for sale at an online auction on October 28, 2014.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is now the new owner of Johnsonville, Connecticut, USA. The INC paid almost 1.9 million dollars for the 62 acre town. The INC took ownership of Johnsonville in the first week of July 2017.

This is the second time the INC has purchased a town in the USA; the first being located in Scenic, South Dakota, bought in 2011.

Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, INC Executive Minister, envisions Johnsonville as a future site of INC activities in the Northeastern Seaboard of the United States.

The INC, which currently has three congregations in Connecticut, is found in 138 countries and territories around the world.   (Eagle News Service, Photos from EBC New York Bureau)
